Eligibility 

Applicant must:
Be 65 years old or less

Be not  eligible for a provincial or territorial government health insurance plan in Canada

Be in good health and must know of no reason to seek medical attention

Be a student  and provide proof of admission and registration in a recognized Canadian institution of learning 

Be a  student completing post-doctorate research in a recognized Canadian institution of learning

Maximum liability - $2,000,000 CAD

Premium: $50 per month (one price) 

Minimum premium: $50 CAD per person for single / $125 CAD per policy for family

No deductible

Maximum period of coverage: 365 days

Family rate available: single rate multiplied by 2.5 for the whole family members

Worldwide travel coverage
Provided the majority (51%) of your period of coverage is spent in Canada except the country of origin

Pre-existing condition
Pre-existing conditions are covered if stable in the 90 days prior to effective date of the policy

Waiting period
For policy purchased prior to arrival in Canada: waived 

For policy purchased after arrival in Canada: no coverage if sickness or injury is confining you to hospital or that is under active treatment on the effective date of the policy

Accidental death: $25,000 CAD

Accidental dismemberment or total permanent loss of use of limb or sight: up to $25,000 CAD

Air flight/common carrier accident: up to $100,000 CAD in case of death


Claim

In the event of hospitalization, you must contact Global Excel within 48 hours of admission. Failure to make such notification will limit the total amount payable to 80% of all eligible expenses incurred
